A group of teens grow up in a spooky little town called Burke's Point. Sometimes we don't know our homes as well as we think we do. Updates Mondays.
Long Gone Legends is a comic that doesn't fit neatly into one genre no matter how hard I try to find one that suits it. It combines elements of folk horror, urban fantasy, and coming of age, as well as a few sparse hints of existentialism. Taking place in Burke's Point, a small town in the Sierra Nevada mountains, it zeroes in on Florence Seong-Kobayashi as he begins to have vivid nightmares of dying that leave it exhausted, disturbed, and confused, though the one thing he is sure of is that there's more to this than just bad dreams.
It is written and illustrated by me (hal, tertiaryapocalypse... etc) and edited by my good friend Fyrdous, who really needs to get their website up and running so I can link somewhere that isn't their instagram. It's been a passion project of mine since late 2021. A beta version of it was started in 2022, though it's now being re-written. You can read the beta version on this site or on tapas.
